Video marketing is a powerful way to educate and build trust with your customers. We recommend creating a short video explaining why you have invested in Ailo and the elevated service your renters can expect as a result.
Research shows consumers prefer "authentic", lower production quality videos over more polished ones. So, grab your smartphone and find a bright, quiet spot to record.

VERSION 1: Existing renters
Hi I'm <name> from <your agency>.
Today I want to let you know about some important changes to our business that will improve your rental experience.
This month we are moving all of our customers to a new platform called Ailo, which is an app designed to easily and securely pay your rent and more importantly to help us communicate better with you.
Here are a few things I love about the app:
First, you'll have more flexibility on how you pay your rent. Very soon you'll be able to pay via debit card, direct debit and credit card to earn rewards.
Second, you will always know when your rent is due. The app gives you a running log of where your payments are paid to and notifications to make your rent payments even easier.
Finally, there's a chat feature which allows you to communicate quickly with your property manager. For example, if an issue is to arise you can pop it in the chat and we'll respond to you as soon as possible.
Over the next few weeks you'll receive an invitation and you will need to download the Ailo app. If you have any questions, please don't hesitate to contact your property manager.
VERSION 2: New renters
Even with a great property manager, renting can still be stressful. Keeping track of what you owe and when – not to mention the endless back-and-forth just to get things fixed. At <agency name>, we've invested in a platform that make it so much easier.
Meet Ailo, the platform designed to help property managers give renters a better experience.
Property managers use Ailo to manage your payments, keep your home safe and comfortable, and ensure you’re always kept in the loop.
The platform also gives you way more transparency and control.
When you first move in, easily complete your ingoing inspection on your Ailo app. Delivering a stack of paper back to your property manager is now a relic of the past!
Once you settle in, Chat makes it easy to resolve repairs faster. With all your conversations in one place, say goodbye to missed emails and phone tag. Plus, we measure your property manager’s response time to help them improve.
See everything in your app, including how much rent you owe, any upcoming bills, and your rental ledger. You can also unlock more payment methods.
Choose to use instant card payments, to boost your rewards points, or to easily split rent or bills with housemates. It’s your choice.
With Ailo, your information is encrypted the moment you enter it and stored securely according to the highest standards set by Visa and Mastercard.
Tips for nailing your video
- Find a device that you can record on.
A smartphone, iPad, or laptop will do the trick! If you’re filming on a phone, switch to airplane mode to avoid distractions. - Set up your shot.
Set up your device on a stand using landscape mode at eye level. Have a look behind you to see if your background is neat and tidy – ideally with some branding.
If you’re shooting the video for social media specifically, we recommend also creating a version that’s in portrait mode to use in ‘Stories’ or ‘Reels’. You can either do this the easy way by shooting the video twice or the slightly harder way by cropping it in the editing step later. It’s up to you. - Check your lighting.
Face the direction of the sun (natural light is preferred!), or ideally use a ring light to evenly light your face. Ensure there are no light sources coming from behind you, or your face will appear dark. - Check your audio.
If you’re filming with your phone, try not to rely on its microphone. Use a lapel mic that you can plug straight into your phone. - Practice makes perfect.
Before you hit record, practice the script a few times out loud. Remember to maintain eye contact. Try recording once or twice and watching yourself back on the video. - Hit record.
Remember to breathe, smile and pause between your points. Don’t be afraid to use hand gestures if you are making an important point. - Editing.
There are a few in-phone editing apps that you can use. Consider Adobe Premier Rush for android and IOS, or iMovie (free on iPhones).
Handy Hints: If you’re having trouble getting the script down, print it off in a large font and ask a colleague to hold it up behind the camera so you can read it like an auto-prompt. Feel free to switch things up, too. If a line doesn’t feel natural for you to say, put it in your own words. And remember, have fun! It can feel strange at first, but the more you relax, the easier it will be.
