Overview
You can forward emails and add or remove recipients on email threads directly inside Ailo — on both mobile and web. This means you can manage who's involved in an email conversation without leaving Ailo to use Gmail or Outlook.
How forwarding works
Forwarding takes an existing email and sends it to a new recipient. This is useful when you want to share an email thread with someone who wasn't originally part of it — for example, looping a tradie into a conversation about a repair, or sharing context with an investor.
When you forward an email, Ailo creates a new linked thread containing the forwarded content and the new recipient. The original thread stays unchanged so the historical record is preserved.
How changing recipients works
You can add or remove recipients on an email thread to update who receives future messages. This is useful when:
- A new person needs to be looped into an ongoing conversation (e.g. a tradie joining mid-thread)
- Someone no longer needs to be on the thread
When you change recipients, Ailo creates a new linked thread with the updated recipient list. The original thread stays intact with its original participants — meaning the audit trail of who was involved at each point is preserved.
All recipients on a thread are visible to each other. If you need to share an email with someone privately, use the forward option instead — that creates a separate linked thread that only includes the recipients you choose.
A note on chat threads
Forwarding and changing recipients applies to email threads only. Chat threads (Ailo's in-app messages between PMs, investors, and tenants) are not affected.
