Australian banks will be closed for business on the following upcoming national public holidays:
Easter Weekend: | Anzac Day: |
Good Friday, 15 April 2022 | Monday, 25 April 2022 |
Easter Monday, 18 April 2022 |
How does this affect payments in Ailo?
On these days, bank account transactions will not be processed or cleared by financial institutions. As a result, any rent or bill payments made using direct debit could be delayed.
Rent will be recorded as Pending in the ledger from the date the payment is initiated - as long as the funds are clear in the expected timeframe, the rent will be marked as paid on time.
Property Investors
Some investors will get access to their rent a few days later than they usually do:
- Any rent payments made using credit or debit cards will not be affected and will continue to clear within 2 hours. Transfers from Ailo to their bank account will also continue to clear within minutes, as long as their financial institution is NPP compatible.
Renters
Payments will still register in Ailo, but some renters may have funds debited from their account later than they usually do. There will need to be enough money kept in the bank account over the public holidays to cover the rent payment.
- Rent payments made via debit or credit card will not be impacted by the public holidays.
- Normal banking operations will resume on the next banking day after the public holidays.
